The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 人物塑造相当成功，瘦削干瘪，一个眼角耷拉着。
剧情中规中矩，老亨利处事果断，枪法稳准，疾恶如仇。动作快，姿势帅。
每當西部片中的少年變成了牛仔，男孩變成了男人，也就意味著可以結束了。簡單的故事無法抵銷對西部片的熾熱情懷。沒有女主但有女人。
今年最棒的西部片！故事结构紧凑，对白简洁明了，导演克制隐忍小火慢炖，一步步将剧情推向高潮，结尾再来个意外反转，老亨利完成了自我救赎，儿子认识了父亲，告别家园独自策马上路，消失在Oklahoma 州的原野。
西部版《我和我的家乡》+《我和我的父辈》。一个女性角色都没有。就是稳准狠，把西部片最吸引男性观众的元素全部提炼了出来，也顺便把女性观众和娘炮踢的远远的。

这么一个俗套的故事被导演拍得还挺好看，不容易。
