The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 前半段男主非常主动（不太喜欢这个时候的男主），是两人某个艺术的契合点让彼此看到了自己的灵魂，后半段迷幻一样的情节，无缘无故消失还是在和姐姐私奔后消失。后半段情节有点掉尾，但喜欢男主的一个转变。离开老师那段彼此拥抱哭泣，此时只有这两个人是真正互相理解对方的，渴望能找到志趣相投，可以找到迷失的灵魂。也许最后男主最后找到了迷失的自己，虽然痛苦但把刻骨铭心的爱恋写成了一本书：To The Man at the Lake！
导演把自己的经历写成了小说 然后又拍成了电影 算不上是部爱情片 只是生命中一段时间的记录 恰巧这其中有短暂的被定义为爱情的东西飘过 后半段想反应当下印度男男感情的问题 可惜想表达的太多就什么都表达不好 因为还想拍成励志电影
镜头很美，前半部分很喜欢，可惜后半部分有些割裂，终归是导演要得太多！还有这海报是认真的吗？
我好爱这种调调的印度同影，成为我目前心中印度同影top1了，画面拍的是真的美，剧情其实略微狗血点，音乐也很好听，印度抛弃歌舞商业片搞起文艺片来也不逊色啊
剧情和表演是典型的烂片 悬崖下的周旋还算凑合 我给两星 按通常多数人对于惊悚片的宽容度来说应该在五分以下吧 有些奇怪…
5.5 好像有点意思，又没多大意思，作为“异乡人”的既视感倒是挺强烈的。
故事的背景对于个人和事件来说太大了，以至于故事过于单薄，不过悬疑气氛很到位。
其余部分拖沓无味充满了小成本但完全不质朴而只剩做作的运镜和戏多的配乐。至于男主怎么从一个弱鸡游客变成深受重伤还能徒手暴打 N 个 armed agents 的美国队长，这不重要。可取的是希腊的破败混乱氛围和 rally 事发时的慌乱压抑倒是 capture 得非常接地气。
攀岩极限+女性打怪题材，全程无尿点。坏人越来越黑化有点吃惊
个人觉得能给6.5分到7分，是合格的倒霉蛋题材电影，主角在错误的时间到了错误的地点，看到了不应该看的事情。以平民的身份，在政治绑架暗杀中来回穿梭。他喊了半天自己是美国公民，后来才知道，自己撞破的是美国的行动，一脸懵逼。最近希腊怎么了？已经看了好几部希腊有恐怖组织的电影了……
景美人不美，意象浅薄，抄袭别人的元素过多，自身剧情狗血且矫情。
螺螄殼裏做道場有模有樣，free solo淪爲配角了。

小镇黑警，垂直山崖，列车急停，左翼同盟，地铁刺客，美帝轴心，暴动追踪，手刃恶人；疲劳驾驶翻车神谕乱入脱欧政治阴谋，又或希腊穷游攻略，老派好看；片名/主角名算是致敬贝克特荒诞戏剧啥的吗？
想给2.5星。想一想有些过激。网飞，你放弃吧。
屎一样的剧情 一样的演技。。生活逻辑根本不通。。。咋拍的？
所以永远都不要说一个男人不行，never, ever!
户外运动，惊险刺激。虽然有些情节不太合理，暴力血腥。但阿尔卑斯险峻风景和攀岩者的矫健身手和登顶过程，值得一看
