The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 在流媒体的剧场版动画中，这部的制作水平算不错的。如果是在院线上映的话，巨兽的种类会更多一点。

是的，如你所见这部电影具有一切海上冒险题材所需的元素：神秘、怪异、险恶、喜剧、动作，精彩的配乐，外加媲美皮克斯的精致画面。剧情紧凑，高潮迭起，让人全神投入直到片尾字幕滚动。
结尾升华的点得很不错，讽刺了贵族上等阶层为了自己的利益，制造谎言，让海怪和底层猎人自相残杀了数个世纪的卑劣的从中渔利行径。
