The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 倒霉的卖软件黑哥哥到了希腊就成了特工了，这是多么不幸确非常幸运的事情啊。大哥从楼上往下跳的瞬间我就崩了，他喵的当自己是黑豹么？真不符合逻辑。不过希腊美景构图+坂本龙一配乐增色不少
对希腊的城市捕捉很到位，动作和悬疑都差了些意思。
导演一到关键时刻就给慢动作，真是扣人心弦。。。没错，扣人心弦，我都多久没用过这个词了
工整干净的摄影和配乐给了这个异域逃亡的故事添色不少，奈何剧本本身有点薄弱，悬疑程度不够，反转也都在意料之中。
给四星是觉得六分有点低了，平衡一下。个人感觉电影整体还是有可看性的，开头部分有些无聊，中间部分不错，结尾有点扯，不过整体来说还是能让人看下去。个人感觉6.5分左右比较合适。（按豆瓣对一般美国大片的评分趋势还可以再高一点，七分左右）
真的有够boring的，110分钟不知道讲了个啥，完全垮掉。除了DJW在希腊惊慌失措的样子有点我在法国巴黎的即视感，其他就毫无沉浸感可言，丝毫没有扣人心弦的地方。
看片明以为是惊悚片。主线男主为了救小男孩儿，顺便报仇？ 无缘无故被卷进党派纷争，大使馆也不帮忙，太无助了🥲

冲着坂本龙一和厄运看的。男主就是悲催啊～动乱的国家也很悲催～暗无天日
感觉男主跑了一个多小时都不知道在躲避谁，最后从四五层高的停车场跳下去居然一点事没有也是够夸张了，我当时以为是要以死相救了。不好看。
3.6 “你只是个倒霉蛋“，果然政治才是最惊悚的，因为没有人性只有立场。会英语目前很重要。最后那1跳扯了。抢摩托不给那真实了。
普通人被卷进这种事里真是倒霉，想抢辆摩托车逃命都抢不到。还是把主角设定成退伍老兵、前特工之类的靠谱点，起码能占个爽字，最后单枪匹马把黑帮打手干掉了也显得没那么离谱。

一开始觉得没啥意思 看到中间发现拍得还比较踏实 看完想问问是参考柯南了吗？
男主一身肥膘和笨拙的动作、奔逃，反倒增加了写实感。不过，大使馆外交官为啥会勾结当地黑帮呢？为了支持右翼上台？
普通人躲避追杀这么牛？？太神奇了！卡司这么好，原来只是客串。只是黑人男主的逃亡故事。动作戏也没什么意思。
身处异国他乡，语言不通的孤独感和无力感，经历过的人很容易被代入其中
一对儿衰货小情侣的送命旅行。但却说出了一个问题：哪个地方有暴乱都离不开米国的干预。
