The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 文学改编的思路很传统，甚至旁白的效果虽然看似自洽但也有敷衍的成分。但这个核心情节一出来，观众会立刻明白为什么这是个适合当今再次拍摄的故事。人类总是重复自己，互联网时代的许多魔幻只不过是借助工具将其夸张放大罢了，巴尔扎克真是大师。

Un film emportant, empalent, éblouissant de la mise en scène tout en ayant une voix musicale, remarquable. L’adaptation est à la fois moderne et historique. Une densité narrative est également incroyable. Bref, un film ambitieux, luxueux, poignant.

场景，服装，音乐都超一流。 经典之所以是经典，在于其永不过时。或者说时代再如何进步，有些东西是不会变的。 因此看到了太多了可以折射的影子。

古典文学作品改编，这段19世纪乡村文学青年在巴黎贵族圈的沉浮史，不仅精准还原了那个时代欧洲腐朽名利场的风貌，还被赋予足以震撼当下的意义。
不知道是演员扮相、行为举止不够古典，还是拍摄手法有问题，总有种现代人在演古装戏的违和感。而且故事拍得不甚有吸引力，影片时长又有两个半小时，让人情不自禁开始走神。

虽然很华丽，但拍得毫无新意，一部小说改编的电影还是需要旁白和对白推进故事的话，那我为什么不去看原作呢？
