The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. 前半段是拍得不错的，结尾的剧情走向渐渐有点看不懂用意。

女主这个坏批 蔫坏！为了自己摆脱诅咒连女儿都不放过 还把观众往阴沟里带 看到她去云南求助大和尚的时候竟然是身怀六甲 我整个后脑勺都凉了 还有后半段她问自己究竟是什么时候开始爱上朵朵的 我才恍然大悟这个批把女儿接回来可不是出于爱 虽然评论都在骂导演晦气（确实挺晦气） 但主角视角的叙述性诡计带来的剧情反转 对华语恐怖片来说还是很新鲜的
不过比起所谓“晦气”的评价，我却觉得导演这一招相当妙，我甚至有些心甘情愿地分担诅咒。朵朵那些碎片化生活的记录，害怕怪物的若男想当一个好妈妈、医学无能的谢启明想当一个好“爸爸”，都狠狠地让我共情了。

4分。手持相机近景特写拍摄还是很考验演员的演技的，镜头直接怼脸脸上的微表情一览无余，对于朱迪来说，这片里她的完成度十分高，印象最深的是凌晨那场戏，那种抑制自己情绪崩溃的表情，真的不忍心看。即使后面飞跃疗养院这出戏真的有点偏离了，但整体而言还是一部可看性十分高的电影，同样是新冠题材的，以小见大的功力可见一斑。
