The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 1.好一幅可歌可泣的铁道群英谱，最惊喜的无疑是范伟饰演的老王头。2.节奏克制，铺垫绵长，直到最后一场终极对决，才把电影情绪推向高潮。3.镜头和美术设计一流，火车、风雪、烟雾、枪火等相互交织，形成独特的电影美学。
看过的第500部中国电影？完成度不错，有细腻感情和丰满人物刻画的主旋律电影，质量放个次热门档期譬如五一应该没问题…不知道什么时候开始喜欢看激光高亮厅，180%亮度的大雪纷飞场景似乎很适配，不知道非高亮原片是什么感觉？开头有点像抗战版速度与激情，扒火车截粮食药品屡试不爽，临平站、鲁南铁道大队人物关系搭建完毕；满铁调查科上线之后遭遇挫败，掌柜的、万老板——小日本的称谓还挺入乡随俗，小护士协助避险、锄奸小插曲节奏有点慢下来；验枪员加入之后鸟枪换炮，终极任务炸军火专列来临，老王打酒传讯后扔手榴弹干掉尾巴那一幕帅爆了；结尾即高潮，谢幕之后（想象中）十二人车间重聚大合影泪目😭一部戏get范伟的演技，张也近几年主旋律参与得不少啊；感谢影厅没有提前开灯，静静听完刘德华先生《弹起心爱的土琵琶》真是一种享受！
感觉没啥意思，趣味不大，70年代色情片拍得倒是蛮好。
说不上来好看还是不好看，可能因为是带情色的R级，音效的处理会多一些特别的东西。但是故事上还是非常局限，基本可以想到是个什么走向、最后会如何终结。Mia一人分饰两角算是最大的一个惊喜，给墙上照片特写的时候，我想导演是希望观众自己去发现的。
电影没什么亮点，也没大毛病，平平之作，但起码好过同期上映的大多数电影，包括评分超高，吹破天的几部片子。

好一出荡气回肠的铁道血与骨暴力挽歌，范伟老师从影以来最炸裂演技
如果最后那个小伙子用范伟给的刀杀了日本兵再逃出来，我可能会给这个电影加半颗星。
心脏病也并没有带来什么剧情上的变化

氛围有了，感情戏缺失，各种直给的动作戏。没个像样的大反派，张涵予和范伟也无能为力，也不能把火车当反派吧。跟《悬崖之上》半斤八两，比《智取威虎山》差得不是一星半点。5
故事本身并不出挑，中规中矩，日本BOSS的形象塑造上稍微有点过于故弄玄虚。范伟的表演无懈可击，是加分项。| CG场景还是弱了点，尽管雪天，火车头蒸汽，黑夜已经算是给足了条件，但火车撞装甲车还是看得出假的感觉。还要努力啊。
