雷纳德是一位手艺精湛的裁缝，一场火灾之后，他离开了伦敦，来到芝加哥，在这里经营着一间属于自己的裁缝店。店里的员工除了雷纳德自己外，还有一个名叫梅布尔的姑娘，梅布尔的父亲是一个臭名昭著的恶棍，背负着父亲的“盛名”，梅布尔下定决心要攒够钱，去看一看这个肮脏黑暗的街区以外的世界。
剧本杀电影，没啥意思。很厌恶《暴力史》式的结尾，裁缝形式和影片内容结合得不好。Immigrants, we get the job done.

但其他倒也没什么新鲜的。韩国人说话又碎又细，叨叨的而且效率很低，骂人也就是西八西八个不停，歹徒发狠总给我一种同一个模子刻出来的感觉。

密闭环境下不断反转的舞台剧电影，颇有一点以前看《惊世狂花》的感觉。靠字字珠玑的对话、怀疑、自辨、圈套推进剧情。
像一个舞台剧，一个房间里的戏。故事挺吸引人，反转也较合理。大爷解开袖子露出纹身，拿剪刀反杀那一段简直神了，眼神转变十分犀利。忍住的第二刀简直是杀手从良克制暴力的表现。
风格，才是这类影片的出头之日。否则就是鸡肋，食之无味，弃之可惜。
