The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 其实本质上，关注和表达视角挺中国人的。想起了当初进藏路上的一些驴友们，还有朋友圈的“职业旅行者”。在路上，对有些人是体验人生的一种方式和一个阶段，对有些人则是内心疗愈的不能停止的精神药剂。

赵婷的电影确实在一定程度上打碎了近十年来流行文化对于young wild American时代的庸俗想象，引入的萧条、阶级视角也几乎是独异的。但是我稍不满的是刻意强调主人公受文学影响的一面，而且画面配音乐的抒情方式也用得过多而显得偷懒了。印象深刻的是一幕背景音和现实吉他弹唱交叠覆盖的场景，断续的弦乐有一种超拔的视角。

我还以为是美国本地人拍的，拍出了失产者的困境昔日的第一大国的困境，但又不死心地想要为这种现状去开脱，为了追求精神境界啦不是因为没钱被困住了而是因为精神上被困住了啦……巴拉巴拉，但这或许也是现状的一种表现吧。
