During the US Civil War, Union POWs escape in a balloon and end up stranded on a South Pacific island, inhabited by giant plants and animals. In 1865, during the siege of Richmond, Virginia, the union soldiers POW Captain Harding, Neb and Herbert escape in a balloon during a storm with two confederate prisoners, Sergeant Pencroft and the journalist Spilett. The uncontrollable wind takes the balloon to a mysterious island in the South Pacific in the area of New Zealand. Captain Harding self-proclaims the leader of the group and they look for food; sooner they discover that they are stranded in an island. Further, they are attacked by a giant crab that becomes their first meal. Along the days, they build a shelter and finds that the island is inhabited by giant animals. A couple of days later, they find two castaways on the beach, the aristocratic Lady Mary Fairchild and her sexy niece Elena. Later they find a trunk with weapons and instruments like sextant and shelter with a journal of a man left alone in the island by pirates. When the pirate vessel arrives in the island, they are helped by Captain Nemo of the Nautilus, a submarine that had supposedly sunk in the coast of Mexico eight years ago. 质感出挑，单场戏很棒，整体却力有未逮，端着而无法下沉。倒是奥斯卡·伊萨克，头发一梳，从头有型到尾。
周末事儿多用了三晚。我看完了，其实本是想周末找个爆米花电影打发一下，谁知道这是部节奏很慢，很隐晦的电影。我看不懂，我还是不做评价了，但是我感受到伊萨克的偏执与孤独，还有最后的碰手指，很温柔。
Oscar Isaac很迷人，但劇本有點過時

本来以为是一部赌片，结果又是一部战后ptsd的片子。两种情节穿插在一起，整个片子的节奏都很慢，只是力度完全不一样，在打牌的时候很稳很平和，离开牌桌后，男主的动作和习惯以及和cirk的对话，却充满了力度。还不错
想赎罪，换个别的行业呗，选德州扑克干鸡毛啊！整那气场跟赌神似的，我TM人都码好了，你给我看这个。
看的时候觉得这个片儿和《第一归正会》有点像，原来一个导演。

蛮有意思的一个局.【住在酒店还要各种把家具的腿部绑上床单有点意思。】
too concentrated，人物所处的环境是很凸现的，人在其中走总是想要去到哪里，然而没能卸下这股力，通道是紊乱的。
片尾曲有后劲，但全片里太多本该用来建设人物动机但用在闲聊上的无效镜头，属于那种自己说了算型的编导，可以删的东西太多，可以加的东西也太多；话说看了十五分钟，意境营造手法上就感觉像极了《出租车司机》，上来一看果然是相同的编剧。
这个赌王不太冷。赌王线和复仇线双线把控，都停在肾上腺素飙升的临界点，简而言之就是看起来不太爽。在平凡的故事线对比之下，人物多了很多细节描写，用布家具把所有家具包裹起来的癖好，结尾发现是反派教官的癖好；google地图看到的反派教官家门口照片，成为结尾处小跟班深入敌营的线索... 就连随时擦枪走火的情侣，也要眉来眼去到最后。
除了鱼眼镜头以外，还有极度喧嚣的音乐，其他部分都还在考验我的观影能力和耐心

导演功力不够 把主题拍得小而浅 但是镜头处理得很好 所以不至于给一颗星（只要忍住前一半的无聊还是能坚持看完的

另一种《出租车司机》，老派故事套上了新的外壳。本人对赌博这种手段，算是救赎？完全无感……
有电影的质感，画面老练，故事本身冲突有点儿突兀
没有那么差，但是本来以为是什么酷酷的赌博电影结果看到一半才发现是要救赎温情，前面半个小时真挺不知所云的，而且算牌扑克和审讯ptsd两条线好割裂。
浓浓的廉价感和莫名其妙的人物关系，还有各种让人出戏的配乐和拉黑过场，看得尴尬癌发作。两星都给Oscar Isaac的表演。
