The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. 应该是2021年看到的最愚蠢的故事了，无论是叙事还是情节都刷新了我的认知下限。而且我始终不太能接受一些说法的就是，一个男人，无论出于何者目的，能拿出性命一搏，这不就是舍生求义嘛，此外还有什么更高尚的东西吗
本想说三段式的结构推进高明有趣，结果看完了觉得大可不必。

这么一个朴素的打拳的主题值得老雷整一个中世纪历史片吗？你拍一个现代题材还有反思空间，男女平等还是中世纪吗？总不能拍李自成起义失败把根归在没有掌握马哲？

#BIFF2021 电影时长三小时，个人对这种叙事很宏伟的电影不太感冒，但有几个镜头如剧照一般的确很惊艳
我很喜欢！导演的影像世界特别完整，其风格也是贯彻始终的。影片的气息和节奏都很流畅，三小时不觉闷不嫌长。这种主题和内容确实适合用荒诞闹剧的形式来展现，但要做到有趣味（不是低级的插科打诨，而是根植于视听的趣味）其实很难，《椒麻堂会》做到了。
混剪版本，没有增加任何新的元素，就是把TV版的做成一部动画，和其它合集版，没有啥区别
由于影片还挺长，所以需要一定的耐心才能看完。首先形式上的新奇之处就不多做评价，觉得最神之处是驼背用照相机看来看去和结尾人人在喝孟婆汤忘却往生。- Filmfest München 25.06.2022
