The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 两人第一次去看海的时候，说看到海内心会有平静安心的感觉（插播一句我也一样）两人探讨到安心这个话题，面对真奈关于什么是安心这个问题堇给出了一个深深地爱着你的，把你放在第一位的就是安心的答案，对比后面堇说拿起摄像机会觉得平静，以及二个月之后再见，堇说真奈的家有安心的感觉（此刻觉得堇说的不是真奈的家，而是指真奈本人有让人安心的感觉）对于堇来说，摄像和堇，就是让她感到平静与安心的事，两样她最喜欢最爱的东西，就像看到了海是一样的感受
东抄西抄也就这样，难得一桌子能凑齐这么多东北人，本来以为能带点民俗啥的，结果所有的狠人都是一秒变怂，所有的狠人都是浪子回头
或许一开始以短片为目标更为适合，作为一部长片略显真空，不过很有希望入围日奥最佳摄影
我们从降临到世间的那一刻，就被迫成为世俗的人。挣扎一生，也只是学会用微笑和从容来掩饰极尽冷漠、极致热烈、极致疯狂的内心。压抑的内心快要窒息。直到我遇到了那个女孩。人群喧闹中，她弯下腰捡起了我落在地上无人注意的钱包。她语意未落时，我仿佛能看懂她未说出的话。亲近她的念头疯狂滋生。我的余光一直留意她。她被灌酒的时候，难受跑厕所的时候，她坐在我旁边说话的时候，她睡懒觉的时候。不知不觉我的眼里，心里全是她。我从家里出走，她说让我久等了。我剪了短发，她说好像我一直就是这个造型。她，总说出让我惊讶的话。让我的心颤动的话。好想好想一直和她在一起。
三星是给滨边美波的
演员方面除大崔、于洋、宋晓峰，网红四哥和李会长、梁龙挺有笑点，没有掉链子。
故事没啥野心，却又很细腻，很温暖。致敬《教父》、披头士，墙上《入殓师》、《阿飞正传》的海报……原来崔志佳也这么爱电影。
电影艺术的进阶技巧更是无从谈起。
看了梁龙的cut才来看这片 选角不错 拍的还行 选材不错 今天是曾江的离世第三天 怀念坚叔 最后果不其然提到了《当年情》不禁恻然
没想到居然是一个相互暗恋的故事，为了滨边美波的颜，觉得可以多加一星。
好含蓄的蕾丝爱好闷的故事推进 二倍速都觉得节奏慢 故事尚且及格导演功力不够 只能说男导演不会拍拉拉
这电影太慢了，根本不需要拍那么长，哭的画面真美

其实挺好的，除了有点煽情过度，最后的彩蛋也挺好玩的。
卡司挺多，有些片段也很到位，新人导演值得期待
立本人把电影拍明白到底有多难……除了百合线，在最后的动画里感到了深深的孤独（果然做动漫还是这个👍）。
导演拍了两部，应该也赚了不少钱吧，静下心好好磨磨本子吧，再好的创意，再好的演员，也经不起烂俗故事的折腾。
觉得后半段的动画很惊艳。愿世界上的自然灾害少一些，也愿世上不再有be的双向暗恋故事。
画质很不错，有电影的感觉，灯光美术很专业，只是有一些表演片段应该采取那种言已尽而意无穷的那种节奏，在点儿上，麻花电影这个做的很好，崔志佳改进一下就非常好了。
