The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 从十四岁到三十四岁，我一直不觉得自己完全看懂了追忆篇。但是每每想到剑心和巴一年的乡下隐居生活，和留下十字刀疤时的那一句“对不起，夫君”，眼泪就止不住…原本砂糖和村花都不是我心中的完美人选，但是这版还是get到了。p.s. 果然二十代是最美的。对了，益生菌的桂还是挺失望的。pps两个吃惊：砂糖居然是89年的，身高居然只有一米七
不要再出任何岔子，DCEU真是折腾不起了，希望重启有效

追忆篇落幕，意味着整个剑心系列这次是真的彻底收官了。
时代变革两种立场的信仰冲突
是一整个四不像和大难看的动作。从来没有看过这么难看的超英片（当然漫威的一些也很难看，只是这部实在是太难看了，比它的前作还要难看。）
x特遣队对抗的怪物是只大眼海星，海星的能力是释放无数小的衍生体吸到谁脸上就能操控谁，结局阴沟里千万只老鼠打败了海星，海星遗言说：我也曾幸福过，自由漂浮，仰望星空。美国人竟然夹带私货拍新浪微博（海星）和炸号冤魂（老鼠）的故事。
苍凉的时代感，凄徨的宿命感，时代大幕拉开，但心门永远地闭上了
被漫威“开除”后，感觉滚导憋了一股气，抓住华纳送上门的机会可劲儿地疯玩了一把，全片看下来就那反复的一句话：what the fuck！！ 鲨鱼王最可爱，大海星的设计绝了。
好笑又爽快的B级片，恶趣味溢出，用 Monster is nom nom 来指挥鲨鱼人，怪兽临死前甚至还会留一句很有诗意的遗嘱。DC 放弃正义联盟吧，专心搞这个疯逼系列就好了。
这部居然没人海战术大乱斗，加一星。矮子里面拔长子配乐五部里最佳，可跟龙马传还是没法比。高桥一生演假发败笔，人设不搭演技浪费。真不如索性演饭塚有层次有张力。巷战时墙边一排茅竹，让我记起当年笕桑演的三吉慎藏，手持竹爿杀阵，一夫当关万夫莫开。十年过后，原班人马竟崩坏至此。
不得不说，这么多年期望已经放的很低了，打斗场景拍的实在太好了，也算是给自己年轻时追过的漫画一个交代吧
结果最后又去看了一遍ova，真人版想超越实在太难了
可以说是一部极具导演个人风格的超英电影了，节奏性的剪辑风格、复古金曲的背景音乐，暴力血腥且黑色喜剧的电影基调，130多分钟毫无尿点，比隔壁黑寡妇要精彩多了。
【2022年第20部】这是那么多部里面最最好的。道具、服装真的很用心，场景还原度高。比之前任何一部杀人的时候都干脆利落。故事一如既然的好...这曾是最爱的漫画。还原度大赞
观影建议：全程不要问为什么！这部没有粉丝滤镜是不可能的。大量情绪的描绘和氛围的强调可以看得出来是刻意而为之，可这样并不代表更深刻，反而重复和冗余，并且直接把系列最津津乐道的日本传武削弱的可有可无。仍然最喜欢第一部，二、三保持水准。至于终章的这两部，就当没看过吧。
