The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will.     带给我的爽感是不彻底的，一方面总是会闪现她为什么会落得如此境地如果她当初没被卖到妓院是怎样的，另一方面她的成长过程确实很爽，不想讨论她借人之力，她身上那种劲儿值得赞扬。但一想到现实就有种被打脸的感觉。

    看似像一场将苦难史包装成女权主义的狂欢，甚至有伪女权的嫌疑。全片将真人经历作为背书大肆营造出人物精神所带来的持续影响力，成为深陷困境女性（娼妓）的精神向导，但内核依旧是在依托于男权社会中的男性，二者所带来的违和感片中并无细述。从影片的题材与真实历史背景而言，依旧被触动，被拐卖沦为妓女的悲惨命运以及与之抗争并争取弱势群体权利的毅力与决心让人感慨。但从影片主题思想传达逻辑而言，实属平平，受迫害群体争取权利并不能成为卖淫合法化的直接理由，为社会降低强奸事件发生的功效更是理论上的治标不治本。题材辛辣，深度不够。

    电影多少有些理想化和诗意的处理。非常喜欢女主，演出了那种不屈不挠和率性、真诚、无所畏惧。电影的色调和音乐都很有质感。节奏恰到好处。

    身毒国“赵盼儿从政救风尘”，剧实在没啥意思，女主太好看。看了一些评论，何不食肉糜的人还真多，估计小时候他们都是“双洁棍”吧，哈哈。一个事实上顽固存在的行业，不能合法化的结果其实就如女主所言，从业者的基本权利是根本得不到保障的，利之所聚，白社会缺位必然是黑社会上位，道德纯洁主义者总是成事不足败事有余。

    不知是片子拍的潦草，还是本人就是如此行事，剧情极其不合逻辑。沦落红灯区没有想办法出逃？老鸨死后为何不解放妓女们，而是保留妓院形式为前提给妓女们一些权利？危机关键时刻有黑老大撑腰每次都化险为夷，一路爬上区长。这是印度封建社会下的女性解放？无语，演的跟大女主一样，什么玩意儿

    虽然是逻辑感不强的大女主爽片，但题材不错，立意动人，女主也蛮好看的。

    整个故事有各种逻辑漏洞以及不合情理之处，但由于是改编自真人真事，在历史局限性下，或许这就是真实。如果稍稍收敛批评视角，这部电影真的很好看。色彩和构图好美，把印度街景拍成了真人版《阿拉丁》，白天、黑夜、店铺、天台、凯旋游行，所有画面都太美。Gangubai和Afsaan隔空打牌真是古灵精怪，两人在马车和汽车后座也好甜（所以Gangubai后面放弃并利用男主真的太不合逻辑！

    8.1分。虽然很意淫，但是我喜欢。多么好的一个故事，硬是把我们口中的段子拍成了一部电影，而且是一部很牛很好看的电影，一点违和感都木有。所有演员演技真的好，女主更甚。中间车里打趣的一段演得调皮可爱一点都不色，配上绝好的音乐meri jaan meeti mohan 真是爱死了！试问这么一个可爱美丽自信善良大方又光芒万的老鸨子谁能不爱？又一部三哥神片！
