The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The first part in B/W could be seen as a journey to bid his brother a moving adieu by transporting the ashes of Pirandello, whose works have been adapted by the brothers, to his Sicilian homeland. Whereas the second part in color is quite confusing for us who have never read the story before. The shift from grey to color is poetic though

硬生生弄成了玄幻传奇，不过意境过得去，还有巨型GROOT举着大斧子要砍主角的头，场面活可以。
看不到大银幕有点遗憾，影像包括用光都很棒。
虽然故事讲明白了，但是略显无聊，不够吸引人。
太私人了，实在很难在不了解导演创作背景的前提下，被纯粹的影像和私密的情感所打动。
最后一秒幡然醒悟的怂逼蜕变记。大卫·洛维虽然炫技过头，但影像仍值得反复揣摩回味。
现在中世纪故事也能够看得津津有味，实在得益于《骑砍》《巫师》《十字军之王》。影片故事脱胎于中世纪诗歌，没有完全按照原诗编排，特别是对于骑士精神五要素，在解构的同时，也使得人物选择更偏向当代化。一段自我成长的冒险，目标可能不再是成为骑士，反倒弥漫着一种更加当代性的虚荣、颓丧、自毁、避世。全片的声音表达值得细究。
中古题材从指环王后就到瓶颈了，感觉只要场面大票房好，审美和内涵都不是事儿。这次终于泼来一坛新鲜血液，中心晦涩的章节体冒险是一场成人礼，入世的代价是鬼神的契约，致幻的效果由感官流入心神，a psychedelic fix。 top 2021

一部散文诗般的电影，完全被影像氛围所感染。
继大卫洛维上部失利之后再度回归，把背景搬到了中世纪，服化道过硬，搭配A24标志性的装神弄鬼。将家喻户晓的传说故事，拍出视听享受:自然风光、室内外打光、配乐绝了。其中，跨越时间的玩法与奇观制造很是新鲜，大概就是误食云南毒蘑菇的体验吧。★★★☆/7.7
其中加入的歌谣和韵味都与原著优美的长诗体遥相呼应
很稳。死亡与乡愁几乎是暮年大师们的永恒主题。看不懂是正常的！
6.5 一则寓言故事，骑士的试炼。考验意志，品质，德行。开放结局留白，视听俱佳。美学风格独特，阴郁的氛围提升电影气质，节奏有点过于冗长，有精美外壳但无实质内核。
