During the US Civil War, Union POWs escape in a balloon and end up stranded on a South Pacific island, inhabited by giant plants and animals. In 1865, during the siege of Richmond, Virginia, the union soldiers POW Captain Harding, Neb and Herbert escape in a balloon during a storm with two confederate prisoners, Sergeant Pencroft and the journalist Spilett. The uncontrollable wind takes the balloon to a mysterious island in the South Pacific in the area of New Zealand. Captain Harding self-proclaims the leader of the group and they look for food; sooner they discover that they are stranded in an island. Further, they are attacked by a giant crab that becomes their first meal. Along the days, they build a shelter and finds that the island is inhabited by giant animals. A couple of days later, they find two castaways on the beach, the aristocratic Lady Mary Fairchild and her sexy niece Elena. Later they find a trunk with weapons and instruments like sextant and shelter with a journal of a man left alone in the island by pirates. When the pirate vessel arrives in the island, they are helped by Captain Nemo of the Nautilus, a submarine that had supposedly sunk in the coast of Mexico eight years ago. 一部匠人作品，Phill Tippet是当年的特效大师，定格动画本身就带有一种特殊的质感，拍成恐怖奇幻电影是非常合适的。虽然没有什么故事可言，但是人物与场景设计及许多猎奇的桥段足以吸引着人看下去。无需多项，只需被眼前的画面所震撼。 7/10

我愿意相信标题的「疯神」指的是创作者自己，想象力的混乱集合体，一个颓废、疯狂、残忍的世界，充满了死亡和不可名状的生命，机械而又非理性。

末日之上帝视角，当你是以撩拨别人的情绪为目的而达到利益收获得的时候，终究会走到尽头。我难以想像还有什么可以突破到什么样子?

但真的好重口味，而且我不觉得电影真正意义上结束了。
虽然没完全看懂，但不妨碍目瞪口呆地看完。从头到尾充斥的婴孩哭声，长相却是只恶心的蠕虫，怪异地世界，说不清楚地感觉。旁观的是人还是上帝视角。
给三星，是因为这个电影真的不会再看第二遍
