The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 整体还不错，看这个片名就知道不是啥正经电影了，尽管如此电影也没弄啥特土特懒的情节和梗，当一部正经电影看也未尝不可。前面有点殡葬西红柿首富的感觉，后期则有点不太合理的地方。总体还不错。
或许一开始以短片为目标更为适合，作为一部长片略显真空，不过很有希望入围日奥最佳摄影

音乐很好，以2个人的视角。电影里的情感很日本，浅浅。2个女孩明明是可以在一起，勇敢点就好了。每天人们都在接受离开。

刑满释放和殡天下葬，告别过去，毕竟活着还得继续。殡葬行业还是挺猎奇的，题材比较压抑，导演试图用喜剧的形式完成，可惜崔志佳并没有这个能力。距离《美好的世界》还差好多个二手月季呢🌹

人生到处都充满着意外，总以为还有下次，可一次的擦肩而过就永远失去了所爱。在往后的漫漫人生路上，真奈也只能在记忆中与堇见面😭😭😭
看到1/3大概就能猜出结局，不过几个笑点还是蛮不错
前后短片写出了她的一生，水似的温柔，为了回去的奔走，老者的凋零，岸边观望的她以及陪伴着她的晴好的树

突然在油管上看了，挺好滴。中间有些垮，感觉撑不起这个时长。鼓励鼓励多一星吧。归根结底是职场拍不出只能搞情感加上喜剧杂烩，问题总是一样的…
