The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 喜欢导演关于父母子女的很多观点，导演也是个温柔的人啊。并get了其中一篇关于母亲的论文或书。采访孩子的段落应该都是真实的吧，孩子们的表达很纯真深刻。对比那个时候的自己简直是个SB，当然现在也是。
故作姿态，在大人世界的强势引导下建构出虚拟的孩童视角。
利用音乐与声音把较为零散的生活场景与诗化空镜连接起来，一方面利用纪录片式的采访将一些大的议题抛出并用儿童的口吻去回答；另一方面则在叔叔与小孩相处部分，用录音的连续片段将剪碎的时空串联一起，表现出情绪的流淌。
其实这种题材和风格是我喜欢的类型，为什么会给三星呢？大概是因为效果一般般吧，尽管选择黑白影像自带魅力，但是没有用出感觉。特别是舅舅和外甥在灵魂上的一致部分，他们都是有渴望的、隐藏的，但最后是温水式的，不过，温水也有温水的温柔。
片名其实翻译作《说出来吧》或者《发泄出来》更合适，纽约，雨天，9岁男孩儿和fun uncle突如其来的播客之旅记录童年。失意中年人希望从孩子们的童言无忌中找到答案。“我爱你你爱我但我们永远不可能百分百理解彼此”估计是年度最佳母子关系宣言～
