Arkham, 1975: Jonathan Davis' father has disappeared. His tracks lead to Germany, to the Swabian-Franconian Forest where he was stationed after the Second World War. brutashell review - 'Filmed in black and white and primarily spoken in German, it is obvious that Die Farbe did not have a huge budget to work with. Effects are minimal and the cast is utterly unknown. I should point out that these are all good things, and work very much in the film's favour. There is no CGI to rely on, no name actors to carry it. Rather, the filmmakers do the unthinkable: they create a genuine atmosphere of unimaginable dread and unspeakable horror, using shadow, suggestion and rare splashes of that Nameless colour in a few select frames. In short, they did a damn good job. Die Farbe is subtle in its mounting horror, nurturing a dark dread deep in your bowels with every shot. All of the best and most stomach-turningly distressing films I’ve ever seen have come out of Germany: M, The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari, The White Ribbon, and now this one. Leave it to the Germans. We know how to gross you out on the deepest psychological levels.
Lovecraft worshippers and devotees of German Expressionism alike, take heed: seek out and view this film at your earliest possible convenience. It’s a dark, noisome little gem that will squirm into your subconscious and lay its eggs in your sanity. Hey, not everyone gets the honour of being a host organism for the Elder Gods, you know.'
我放弃了一堆经典的三小时长片没看看了这个。。。虽然看不进去但感觉这电影挺吊的。但还是看得很累。。。
金熊奖提名，但是我看不懂，也不想假装懂得欣赏。前半部分特别无聊，后面有些矛盾冲突之后稍微好些，三个小时，挣扎着没睡着，坚持着看完了。旁白和画面有老电影的感觉，部分情节和画面尺度挺大。男主脸好看，个子居然和女主差不多。

2.全片的荒诞，疯狂，混乱令人印象深刻

既然是合集，那我肯定也看了。
6.法比安找到失踪已久，自甘堕落的朋友，看着周围人荒诞无稽的样子，也许堕落的朋友才是真正清醒的人
時代車輪下，自由主義者的挽歌。每看二十分钟就要停下来缓一下，像法比安溺水前的挣扎。痛。荒诞。无力。推荐和「无主之作」连起来看，不过一个是沉没，一个是扬升，为体验希望，还是先看这部，再看「无主之作」吧。我认为这两部电影中的两位教授都有现实原型—「无主之作」是博伊斯，「法比安」是海德格尔—思想风潮转变的缩影。
说实话挺怀念九柱都在的时光，都是很好的人啊，想想忍姐姐就。。

大背景和个体命运之间有一种非常亲密的疏离。还蛮能理解法比安好像，清醒，但看不得真相，不够勇敢又不合时宜。有很残酷也有很动人的地方。
四舍五入是今年最佳了，三个小时一秒都没走神。一战的创伤和二战的前的阴翳双重夹击下，整个社会陷入一种无序的混乱和癫狂，大量拼贴式剪辑展现回忆和现实的错乱；法比安的爱情走向不可调和，友情走向阴差阳错，失业走向随波逐流，但内心仍有自己的坚持和抵抗；“学会游泳”、多次出现勾引男主的女士等大量的符号隐喻穿插在法比安的脑海中，而一些细节也把希特勒上台后日渐恐怖的气氛慢慢烘托到极致，最终那场溺毙后，随之而来是更为残酷暴烈的反犹屠戮，法比安的死亡是否更像是个好的结局呢？（三个小时男主几乎每一分钟都在抽烟，好想陪一根啊……

手持风格、旁白的叙述、法比安一生的故事，都是我喜欢的。
手持好有力。在混乱的社会里，唯有爱才能让人清醒
时间有点太长，但其实没啥废话，包括各种穿插纪录片也挺恰到好处。本来以为是小年轻穷开心故事（虽然其实也差不多）似乎有些故意的魔幻“穿帮”比如画室外故意拍了地上的Stolpersteine“绊脚石”。基友家豪宅外景是密斯的Lemke Haus，内景似乎不是，但也很好看
真的有必要3个小时吗？叙事非常值得研究。前半小时更像是发泄，但才华洋溢。后面两个多小时就是喜欢叙事，又拖沓又无趣。但还是蛮值得研究的文本。
